I was asked yesterday if I wanted a pair of angels because they were in a tank w/ a goldie and picking on him... Well I explained to the lady that angels can't be with goldies and said that I would take them. I have a 25 g tall set up and cycled w/ a dwarf frog and one black khuli loach, I was originally going to make the tank a female betta community but now I'll put the angels in until my other 30 g is cycled. But what else can live w/ angels? And will my khuli loach or frog get picked on by them?

My angels live with all sorts. See in my siggy. The single angel that was moved to the 35g gets on real well with the gouramies. They tend to watch him like he's a loved baby or some such and occasionally they touch him with their 'whiskers' in a friendly manner. Really is the sweetest thing, although it freaked him out to start with.
The pair in the 55 generally ignore the other residents. Although when the brachies get over excited they show just how fast they can get out of the way!
I'd avoid tetras (fin nippers) and anything overly aggressive.
I don't know if they'd pick on the frog or not. Not having kept any. :dunno:
Hugs,
P.

Thanks so much. I'm just more surprised to know how dumb people are to keep angels w/ goldfish...

Well yes. But then in most cases it's sheer ignorance. People simply don't go out their way to find out what they need to know to keep many fish in decent conditions. Sad really. It's hardly like keeping puppies or another mammal.
Hugs,
P.

If you have a pair (male/female) that are producing eggs, are you going to keep the eggs or get ride of them once they are laid. If your keeping them, you'll need alot of tanks

Keep an eye out for an ammo/nitrite spike. Being cycled with a frog & a loach isn't much of a bacteria base. If they are of any decent size you will be at least doubling your bio load.

Other than that, enjoy the new fish!
