Ive just started to notice that at night when I turn off the fish light the Angels go berserk.

What I mean is the 2 angels literally turn on their sides and chase the other fish. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this?

During the day they dont take any notice of them and arnt aggressive in any way.

I found that angels HATE it when you turn on or off the lights. I have to leave mine on at all times in my tank other wise they do go beserk. I don't have the same problem with my other fish though, It is just the angels :D

Fish in general don't like a sudden change in lighting. It may help to set up a lamp near the tank, leave it on when you turn off the tank lights. Wait a while then turn off the lamp. This gives a more gradual change in light intensity, as would be found in nature.

The only tanks I keepa light running 24/7 are angel fry tanks, for the first couple of weeks. Angels tend to settle to the bottom to rest at night, this is where the majority of any debris, along with bacteria, settle. Leaving the light on keeps any bacterial damage or death from occuring with fry.

All cichilds are individuals, and angels are no exception. Some just settle in for the night when the lights go off, some get more active for a bit. The same thing occurs when the lights go on.
