my angel got a sick a few days ago, and had fungus.

im treating him with maracyn, its the 2nd day and the cotton stuff is gone, however they say to treat it for 5 days to make sure.

but ever since he got sick, lots of times he seems tipped to the side, more when he just sits still. is this a side affect of fungus or the medication?
just want to know so i know if i need to worry or not

Hi, I really don't know what could be wrong but at least this will bump u back up to the top. My baby angel died really suddenly a couple of weeks ago, with the only symptoms being a seeming inability to swim - he tried so hard but just kept getting caught in the current. He had been perfectly fine, though, but died not even an hour later. I still don't know whether this was a swim bladder problem or a bacterial infection or what. I don't know if ur guy's problem could be related to the meds, I guess u'll just have to see how he does over the coming days.

I'm sorry that was pretty useless. I hope someone with a clue comes along soon to help u. Goodluck.

Edit: Just read elsewhere that very high nitrAte levels can cause fish to lose their balance. Maybe if u test ur water & see if anyone else here can be more useful than this.

is he/she heading upwards/sideways? if yes it could be swimbladder problems. common for angels especially if overfed.

i would starve the tank for 24hours or so but im affraid if it is the outcome is never good. i hope i'm wrong

no, i dont think its bladder problems. he doesnt go upwards.

i dont know what it could be..... i woke up today and has gotten noticably worse..... sucks

i read that fungal infections only occur when the fish has another disease.

well ive been watching the fish and he acts and looks normal except for loss of balance, and he doesnt swim much like before, just kind stays in one place or very slowly moves to another place.

water conditions are normal too.... what do i do?

the only thing i think it could be is swim bladder disease, because descriptions of it says loss of balance occurs.
