Due to the death of someone at my local aquarist society I've come into possession of 6 juve Angels. Atm I have them i a 250L tank which is nice and deep so no worries on that score. It's also been matured for 9+ months. What I am wondering is I've seen tanks before with a number of angels cohabiting.

Could I potentially keep all 6 to adulthood if they grow up together ? and what would suitable tank mates/numbers be ? Ideally I want to get the tank mates in now so there not added at a later date causing aggro.

Last think I need to find out is what is the best tank setup decor wise for angels ? Im using Caribsea Marine sand (doesnt buffer PH) but I havent started to aquascape anything yet as I only got them last night.

I think angels to by far better in groups, on average, but you would want at least a 4ft long tank for a group, and preferably a 5ft or a 6ft. For tankmates, look toward a large shoal of tetras (dithers - I used to use cardinals, be aware that small ones will be eaten) and some Corys and/or *small* plecos. Some other cichlids (like a group of Apistos or a pair of keyholes or Bolivian rams) would work as well.

Decor wise, think sand, plants, bogwood. Make that lots of plants, preferably something tall like Vallis for them to hide in.

The 250L is 4ft/120cm

Thanks for the tankmate suggestions I was actually debating moving my Keyholes out of the main tank so they could be idea. Corys are one of my favourite fish picked up some Green Laser Cory and some Weitzmani Cory at my aqaurists society fish auction yesterday.

Cardinals I have in the Guppy tank atm but thats going to be swapped to another community tanks once ive rehomed the guppies so those cardinals which are quite big can move into the angel tank.

Many thanks Kitty Kat :good:
