angel has mouth problems!!! help please

while feeding my fish last night i noticed my angel couldn't eat. upon closer inspection i noticed the top half of his mouth was gone. I imeadittly checked my water and all tests came out normal. I had an angel die about 1-2 months ago from hole in the head or whatever but this looks different. he can't eat at al from what i can see. is there anyone that can help me and let me know if i can treat him? if so what should i use? if it can spread to other fish in the tank? i have 5 tiger barbs, 1 oto, 1 male guppie, and 1 rtbs. it is a 55 gal tank. and i don't have a tank i can move him to as a quarinteen tank. please someone help. if i need meds i need to go buy them o the ooner someone responds the ooner i can go to the store...

First of i would issolate the fish if you can, it's it an injury, or desease, like a eating away desease, it dosn't sound to promising i'm afraid, if you can issolate the fish you could try him on some antibiotics, if the fish is not to weak to use them on.

he's swimming around like normal except he can't eat because half his mouth (the top half) seems to be gone. I don't see how this could be so advanced and how i didn't notice it sooner.

Can you issolate the fish, do you have any antibiotic treatments.

If you could post a pic, that would help. Depending on how it looks, it could be a number of things.

Try using some Melafix on the fish this helps heal the fish a lot faster. Also if you have another tank to put it in would be very helpful.

i don't have anothe tank to put him in. and unfortunatly all the stores in my area are closed for today so he will have to wait until at least 530 tomorrow because it will have to wait until i get off work tomorrow. i hope he lasts.

So melefax is the best to try with??

If you have melafix already in yes it will clean the wound an it's an antiseptic treatment, if it's an internal desease you will need anti internal bacteria med.

Have you seen any of the barbs picking on him? Barbs can be nipppy although I have only heard they are bad for tail nipping. Maybe theve been biting angels mouth when they are going for the same piece of food. Just a thought. Angels respond well to malafix. Mine had ich one time so bad her tail/fin was almost completely gone. It is now huge again.
