I added 2 platinum angels to my tank 2 weeks ago (babies), and they have been doing really well.
However, since yesterday the larger of the 2 Angels has not been his self and has been sitting at the top of the tank gulping for air right on the water surface.
Am I right in thinking this is likely to be due to lack of oxygen?
He has no signs of disease, and the other fish and angel seem absolutely fine.
I spoke to the LFS and they suggested upping the angle of the output filters which has created more of a ripple on the surface, and I have also added an air stone to the other end of the tank.
He doesn't seem any better yet but its only been a couple of hours.
Any idea if this could be something else that requires treating differently, or will it take a while for him recover anyway.
The water stats are perfect, tank has a few plants, the filter sponge etc is not clogged, no co2 being added, can't think of anything else that might help..
The tank is still new, fully cycled, but has only had fish in it for 2 weeks (2 angels, 6 pentazona barbs, 10 shrimp) - 180 litres.
Thanks,
Paul.
