i always liked angel fish but i always have too small of a tank

and now i have a big one, i want a angel fish so can i have 2 angel fish?

my main worries are my danios and if they are too agressive for these fish...

5 clown loach
8 zebra danio
4 sparkling gourami (way to small to be a harm)
1 pleco (will trade to lfs when gets too big)
2 cories

so can i have 2 angel fish? also how fast do they grow and are they picky eaters?

i feed my fish..

flakes, shrimp pellet, hikari sinking warfers and algae tablet

yea i'm adding to my 55 gallon with the list i typed

EDIT: the 55 is already set up with the fish i listed...

in my experience angels are nasty fish and will almost certainly molest your danios.

however, many people seem to keep them with small fish with no problems.

if you really want angels you might be willing to take the risk

I would be concerned about the danios. They will out compete the angel for food as they are very fast. This can and probably will stress you angel fish.

and your gourmis u say are way to small to be a harm... what happens when they get big? they may stary to fight with ur angel.
Angels need 10 gallons to them self.

Hope this helps.

I would only worry if they breed, danios are pretty darn fast and angels prefer to just hang there, but they are a cichlid and like all cichlids there nasty when breeding time comes around.

the gourami's max size is 3 cm....

The danios are likely to be seen as food for a full grown Angel. Anything with a slim body line that stays around 2" is in danger.

Instead of zebra danios, maybe some serpae tetras or black skirt tetras? They have more of a round body shape so they won't look like food to your angels and aren't as nippy as the zebra danios.

Serpaes, and skirts tend to be nippy. and may nip at your angels fins. Somae may some may not.

And about the goruami. I personally have had bad experience with dwarf gorumis and angel fish. And with 4 in a tank their is a good chance they may breed. Im not sure if gourmis get aggressive when breeding but i would watch that.

sparkling gourami's are dwarf gourami but they are a more "rare" kind they only stay to 3 cm, not the dwarf gourami that are called "dwarf gourami"

btw the list of fish that i typed, i already have them, my tank cycled in 6 days and with transfered all the old fish on day 7

err, the danios were to help my cycle so i guess no angels, what otehr fish would u suggest? like kinda big (angel fish size) and stays in the middle of th tank

dont your gourmi's stay in the middle and look nice?
I would just stick with them and get more cories and maybe more shoaling fish.
Im sure their is something else that looks good and a good size that go in their tho

rhw gouramis stay at the bottom and their MAX SIZE IS 3 CM!!! that is was too small to be seen 3cm not 3 inch and they stay at the bottom, they are one cm now

if u wanna see pics of them, click on the link on my sig, it will lead you to pics of my tank and fish (including the gourami) :D
