Angel Fish

Hi guys,

I have a 200l tank with around 10-12 fish already in there including 1 angel.

I have just brought 2 more angel fish and popped them into the tan. The orginal seems to be chasing one of the new angels around the tank.

is this common and will it stop?

Yes, angels are quite territorial for cichlids. They're probably just asserting their dominance and gaining territories. Just watch out for individual fish being bullied, angels can waste away if overstressed.

well said. i totally agree. also if they end up pairing up they will bully the 3rd one.

It's a good idea to keep angels in even numbers. This prevents fish being singled out.

Had that problem last week, so I took the aggressive angel out for a couple of hours, rescaped the tank, then re-introduced it and it seems to have worked. Both Angels mostly leave each other alone and keep to their own parts of the tank now.
