My angel fish managed to get itself wedged between a powerhead and the heater, the result is a nasty burn about 3cm long and 1cm wide.Any suggestions as to what might help.Skin has gone in this area and flesh underneath has been damaged.Bill

i reomend hospitilising her asap so she/he can't get bullyed by the other fish in her/his time of need. do a cause of treatment of melafix to help healing and help prevent any infections. i would also have some pimafix available because damaged flesh can be infected with a fungal infection. you will need to keep the water in as best condition as poosable so 20% water change daily before dosing will do a good job.
can you give us your water stats (PH, Ammonia, Nitrite, nitrate, GH and KH)

thats all i can realy do, not being a burn expert.

Thanks for the advice.Only one large angel in the tank that could bully but seems to be leaving the injured one alone.Corydoras and cardinals are the other tankmates.Ph is neutral other stats not known. Undergravel heating, well planted ,120cm*60cm*50cm tank, about 9 months since set up.This is only problem i have had since start up.The heater that caused the burn is only a back up as the undergravel heater usually maintains the tank at about 75c
