Angel fish that appears to be losing fins the ends look like they are tanslucentr. Are angel fish susceptible to fin rot or some other diseases that eat the fins. I have a Tetra that maybe nipping at it.

any thoughts

I think any fish can get finrot..lol..But that is a sign, if they look eaten away, or thinning out, or black and red edges. If its another fish nipping, you moght want to remove one or the other. Otherwise, try some Melafix and watch carefully so no disease is caught is all I can say..

If it is finrot then you will want baterial meds.
How big is the tank, what other fish, and how often and how much are you doing water changes?
Often its caused by poor water quality and you may need to up your cleaning regime.
Any chance of a clear pic of the fish?

Sorry no pic,
25 gal tank
other fish gourami, tetra, platy, sword, guppy, cory
they don't appear to have any problems.
I think the tetra is having lunch. I am going to try and remove the tetra and see if that has any effect. Water quality is excellent.

Angels really need a 30gal tank, shouldn' really keep neon tetra's with angel as they angel will eat then as they do in the wild, sounds like bacterial finrot to me, need a bacteria med same as black angel says

How many tetras? They need to be in groups as low numbers of tetras will harrass other fish.
