Not sure if the qualifies as an emergency but I need to know what to treat for as I am baffled...

My adult Angel (18mths) has 2 raised spots, one either side of the front of his dorsal fin.
Each spot is white and and is the size of a grain of sugar. When I spotted it last week I automatically thought it was white spot but wasn't able to get meds for a few days so I did daily water changes and vacs however, I got meds yesterday but I'm now a bit unsure if that's it as he has no other spots & the existing 2 have not changed.
There are no other symptoms, is plump, eating well, pooing normally and is bright in colour, no red streaks or patches, no other fish in the tank have any issues, 180 litre tank filtered by fluval 305 & internal (maintained monthly), 0 new additions in over 12 months (except fry born in the tank), 0 ammonia & nitrite, tap nitrate can be quite high but have had no problems with that for over 2 years, live plants in the tank and have not witnessed any aggression to him from his tank mates, maintenance procedure is the same, 20% water change weekly, big gravel vac fortnightly, fed on Nutrafin flake & sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm & daphnia and occasionaly eats the plecs veggies when he is bored.

Tried to get photos but he is a camera whore and won't blo*dy turn sideways so after 20 shots of him mocking me I gave up...

Anyone got any ideas....

Sounds like whitespot if there the size of a grain of salt.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.

No flicking or rubbing, he's just sauntering around without a care in the world - just the 2 spots, guess I'll treat for White spot & hope that's it. Thankyou

Raise temp to 30.
Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Remove black carbon if you use it.
Read instuction carefully as sometimes you have to half dose with scaless fish.

Fish can get tho occasional bump, lump, or pimple just like people, or dogs. A pic would help, for nosy fish that like to look at you try some shots while feeding.

Ick usually spreads pretty fast, if you are sure you are seeing only the two spots I would be hesitant to medicate.

Had a thought - although there haven't been any fish additions I did put in a new plant a couple weeks ago. I always rinse them well but can plants transport anything. From studying him at lunch there also seems to be black areas in/near the spots......Gonna try for pic tonight...

Scratch that just remembered I got more of the same plants at that time and they all went in different tanks....no problems in others...

Excellent link unfortunately doesn't quite cover his problem, I'm swinging back to white spot as it seems closest although I'm still not convinced.....must get photo...
