Well i have a red fin Butterfly and a Striped grouper and i never thought i would come across them being so aggressive. The Grouper starts it all the time and continues to do so until he hides in the rocks again. The grouper is prolly about 5-6 inches and the Butterfly is about 5 inches long...Should I sperate them or leave them together?!?! Any help would be greatly appriciated!!

A grouper in a 55g tank?

Depending on the type of grouper it could grow to anywhere from 12" to 48" in length and is NOT suitable for a little old 55g tank. The confines of the tank are clearly putting a strain on the relationship, re-home it or get that much much bigger tank asap. I dunno enough about red-fin butterflies to comment there, but I'd be wary of them too as I do know that many species of butterflyfish require a larger tank as well
