If this is in the wrong spot tell me and I'll remove it. I have a 30 gallon tank that currently has, 5 mollies, 6 platies 1 pleco and 11 molly fry(in breeding net) What I wanted to know was if I could put, maybe 2 angel fish in ??? I have salt in the tank, would that affect them?? How do I know if they are paired up?? HELP!!

angels prefer slightly acidic water but can be happing in alkaline water, i wouldnt put them in a brackish tank though, keep them with slow tank mates in a well planted tank :good:

I'm planing on adding more plants soon. How can I get two that are already paired, I don't want them to grow up, then just kill each other?? :/

Depends on your budget. Best bet for a reasonable price on a pair is a local breeder, you can find them through a local club. Pairs online can get pricey, and shipping isn't cheap.

The cheapest way is to find an independently owned shop, tell them you want to get a pair, will be buying 6 angels, and need to be sure they will take back 4 larger angels in several months. This gives you a 96.9% chance of getting a pair.

Newly free swimming fry 40 fry per gallon
Two week old fry 20 fry per gallon
Month old fry 10 fry per gallon
Pea size bodies 3 fish per gallon
Dime size bodies 2 fish per gallon
Nickel size bodies 1 fish per gallon
Quarter size bodies 1 fish per 2 gallons
Silver Dollar size bodies 1 fish per 3 gallons
Potential breeders 1 fish per 5 gallons
Show Specimens 1 fish per 10 gallons
One breeding pair 20 gallon high tank

You are going to be dealing with potential breeders once they start pairing. This usually happens anywhere from 8-10 months of age. When you do get a pair they will not be full grown, this takes a few years.

You also have to be very careful about angels with smaller fish, angerls get a decent size to them, and are well known for eating smaller fish (like fry or young fish perhaps).. and though most not, I have heard of them being aggressive. Beautiful fish, just be careful putting them in there. Some would say your tank is borderline size or small.. you could prolly pull it off size wise, i more worry of the loss of fish. Once again, I wouldnt put them in brackish water (water with salt added) myself, maybe look around at other possible options besides angels? Google it up and you will find out lots, guarantee.
