hiya and welcome!!!

not sure about community with angels - as i am only keeping angels.....BUT......

i been reading about angels (this is from reading only no experience) so people may be able to give you more ideas but here's a few to kick off:

PLECO (if there is enough room and food as they reportedly suck slime coats off angels

BLUE, OPALINE & DWARF GOURAMIS

LARGER TETRAS other than neons as they CAN eat these

BALA SHARK

just a few that are always mentioned during my research of angels - but people with a community tank having angels in there from their experience will be able to give advice of what goes and what dont!!

excited eh??? hehehe

P.S stay away from barbs as they fin nip!! - and my lfs told me i could keep barbs with angels !!!! amazing how they dont know or is just ignorance!!??

Yeh, i think my tank is just about ready for fish!

I really just can't decide what fish to have. I have a 96 litre tank so its not tiny but i don't want to put something in there and regret it later. Decisions are so hard eh?

Thanks

Bex

@ bexy.....

you any ideas for a fish list yet?? just wondering as people will be able to tell you if they are needed in shoals, or groups or a certain size tank etc etc

what you like the look of the most?

I duno, lol, i like angel fish, and guppies, and siamese fighters, none of which can all go together!
I just duno what i really want i suppose!

Size of tank in gallons or litres would be a good start, angel fish are fin nippers so no fish with flowing fins like guppys, black widow tetra. betta's, and no neon tetras or cardinal tetras as they hunt neons in the wild.
Can't add tiger barbs either as they will fin nip one another, no gouramis either.
Not much left though it depends on the size of the tank.

I am glad it is mentioned about needing enough room for plecs, but it has been forgetten that balas generally need more room as they can grow larger than a foot and are a shoaling, fast, free swimming fish that will normally require a larger tank than a plec.

We have four angels with 8 black widows, and I can seriously say it's the other way round. The black widows are complete bullies compared to the peaceful angels.
I have 2 angels and guppies and there are no problems at all. They do keep the guppy fry numbers down a bit thats all , otherwise very interesting fish to keep. I f you look in my sig below you can see what else i have in there.

I think its also to do with how they grow up: My plan is to add 2 angels to keep the ole platies in check( The smaller of the two species: def not Altrum).

If they grow up with the other fish(start small) they get used to them, and dont get agressive towards them: i Saw a Betta(female), Large Angel, A guppy and a pair of platies happily living in a tank together, they had been raised like that. God help those fry i need to keep down to a dull roar :p
