I have an angel fish that has white blotches on her body and around her eye. It is on the left side of her body, and it is also eating away at her fins. She's had it for several months. I've tried everything. It seems to have started on the top of her head, it was one big spot and looked like puffy white cotton. I treated her with erythromycin. That spot went away, but another white spot formed around her eye. The erythromycin didn't help this time and the blotches spread to her body and started eating away at her bottom fins and at the top of her body where her fin starts. These spots look flatter, not so puffy, and there are holes where it is eating away . I've tried kanamycin/tetracycline, triple sulfa, furazone green, a dip containing sodium chloride/merbromin, and now I am trying Maroxy (stabilized chlorine oxides)which doesn't seem to be working either. I've done partial water changes, taken the carbon out of my filter. I wait awhile until I start a new medication. The fish is eating and active, but the blotches are spreading and I know it won't be long until she dies if this keeps up. I feel so sorry for her. Whatever it is, it's not spreading to my other fish. I have two other angel fish, two plattys and some glow-light tetras. I had a cat fish and red fin shark that recently died, but I didn't see any signs of the disease on them. My tank is 12 gallon and the temperature is 78'. I use NovAqua water conditioner and AmQuel nitrate/amonia/chlorine remover. Please Help !
