Hi All.

I am new to this site and need help :/

I have two angel fish about a year old (one yellow and the other is black stripped) and the yellow one seems to have fits and keeps "twitching" and it also seems to bully and bite the other ?

I ahve carried out a few searches and it seems that he (if it is a he) is either trying to dominate the other or they are breeding but i dont like what im seeing

Any ideas would be greatfully welcome :)

The twitching i guess is aggression as my males would do it as would the females. How big is the tank and could you get a few more to try and pair them off then sell the surplus?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Its only a 70ltr tank but due to the other fish i have already i would not be able to put more angels in there

I was going to give the yellow one to my parents as they do not have any angels but i dont want to seperate them if they are mating

Doesnt sound like joining behaviour, more like a keep away this is my area kind of thing. I would split them up as 70 litres isnt that much room for two angels.

Usually with pairing behavior they will tussle a little, lip lock, nip, and chase, then stay together somewhat between rounds. If they chase & don't stay anywhere near each other except to fight, it's territorial aggression.

Hi again.

I have since removed the yellow angel and the other ones is now feeding but looks a little sorry for itself. Also, it keeps loosing its black strips now and again !

Any ideas ????
