Hi, I recently bought 7 angel fish from a great fish store near where my son goes to college ( 4 hours from home ). They said their fish came from 7.8 PH water. My 125 gallon tank is at 7.8 and I put 5 of the fish in there. I also have a ten gallon, my expermental tank that has a CO2 system and the PH is now at 6.4. I put two of the angel fish there. It has been exactly 1 week and all 7 angel fish have died. I also bought 3 clown loaches to put in my 125 and they are doing fine. Any ideas about what went wrong. The ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings are all zero n both tanks.

Wow, all 7. Sorry to hear about that. Where there any physical symptoms, or odd behavior before they died? I could see losing 1 or 2 perhaps to a hardness difference, but that is rather doubtful. Sometimes even the best shops get in a bad batch of fish, I think this is more likely. I would contact the lfs you got them from. See if they are doing anything different from you as far as feeding, water conditioners, anything. Sometimes seemingly small things can make a big difference.
