Hello,

A few days ago I noticed that my two small Angels have been lithargic and not very interested in eating.

Tank size: 10 gallons
pH: 7.4
ammonia: 0.20
nitrite: 0.00
nitrate: 2.00
kH: ??
gH: ??
tank temp: 78 f

Fish Symptoms: Angels acting lithargic, not as interested in eating. Typically go nuts at feeding time. They tend to hang out on the bottom below where the cleaned filter water dumps back into the tank. They look healthy on the outside, no white spots, fungus, etc... I did notice that the filter media is a dull pink color. This seems odd?

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 1/3 twice a week.

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: None

Tank inhabitants: 2 small Angels

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): None

Exposure to chemicals: None

is that ammonia reading correct? if so that's almost certainly you're problem.

how long has the tank been up and running for? was it cycled before you added the angels?

Yes, the ammonia reading is corect. The tank has been running for five weeks, and just finished cycling last week. Then I added the angels. Ammonia was at 0.00 for a few weeks, and just now showed a higher reading.

What about the pink color of my filter medium? I thought it was supposed to be an icky brown/black color, right?
