hello anyone ...
can otos live wiht angel fish for life time of the tank or will teh angel fish eat them .. i got them to control the algue if worst comes the worst is to get snails ... i have them in 25 tall gallon tank and also would love to get 2 more angels if possible if not its ok all its in there now is
2 angels (presently now sized of silver dollar maybe we bit bigger
3 pepper cory and
3 otos

My instinct is to say no because they are pretty small fish and I know Angels will eat neons(they eat them in the wild) and I suspect they'll eat the otto's eventually also, but I'm not 100% positive on it. Hopefully somebody else will be able to answer it with 100% certainty.

The issue is not the safety of the Otto's. The issue is 2 angels in a 25 gallon tank. This tank is barely big enough for one angel never mind two.

25gal may not be big but it's sufficient.

I unfortunately do NOT agree. The "rule of thumb" is 20 gal for the first and 10 gallons thereafter. I recognize that rules of thumb are just that however, angels will get to 5 or 6 inches if not stunted in a tank that is too small.

Not all angels with get to 5', well i atleast doubt it.Even if that is the rule of thumb it's only 5 gals over.Discus are much bigger and have more messy foods, same rule of thumb for them.O well just my opinion...

i was told they would be ok in 25 tall
i mean tall gall i will upgrade for them sometimes in late fall or winter .. to a 48 gall hx gon shaped tank so not plm there ... i want to get rid of 10 gal anyways and just hang on to it for plms but will move others to the 25 from there

oh plus so if htey arent safe with them ....would they be ok in my 90 gallon i have paradise fish and opaline goramis i know pleco wont touch them so im not worried about them
or am i better off leaving them in 25 gall and just move the angel into the 48 gal

I'd move the angel. Breeders keep pairs in 20 gallon tanks, but you have to understand breeding tanks. Your 25 probably has gravel & decorations, bringing it to 20 gallons or less. Breeders have fish, filter, & water in a tank, and also do large frequent water changes. For a show tank the minimum I would keep an angel in is a 29 gallon.

Adult angels will eventually try to eat any fish that will fit in their mouth, and will try it with fish that are slightly larger. Ottos are pretty small, I wouldn't risk it.

only decorations i have in the tank is one lone thingy in the corner of the tank for the pepper cory ...

i will move the ottos then as angels prob wont be fine in 90 gal as the opaline and paradise arent compatibale with angels right
and i didnt buy them to breed as i have no idea what sex they are ill be shocked if each was male and female one is black with marbling and other one is yellow with marbling and shorter fins where black on is fancy looking tpye thing with really long fins

I have kept Angels with ottos without problems, but again a bigger tank might help them get along better as there will be more space for the ottos to hide if they feel threatened.
Just remember that ottos prefer a maturer tank so they have some algae to eat.

the tank is mature tank but i was afraid to put in 90 gall tank as they are bigger fish and i do put aglue and veggie spirilla and i have lots of rocks from 10 gal that is coverd in algue i periodally put in the 25 gall
it works out so far its been a mth and they have gotten fatter since getting them from lsf i got them they were skinny and only one were fat now all fat even the smallest one looking good and getting bigger i want to get more if i can get ahold of them again as they are hard to get by
