Hello!

One of my angels seems to have a problem with his right pectoral fin.
The fin isn't moving anymore. My angel was okay last week and now he has an hard time swimming with only one pectoral fin.

The fin itself looks fine, there's no finrot...
The angel is ~6 months old.

Could it be bacterial or a parasite problem? :|

Thanks for the help

Tank stats:
10 months old
PH 7.4
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 20

Sadly if he's struggling to swim he's going to get exhausted and they rarely make it when this happens.
Has he damage his fin in the tank.
Any holes or red streaking in the fin
Best to issolate him and make it easier for him.
Good luck.

Thanks for your help Wilder.

There's no hole or red on the fin itself but..
there's a red colouring at the base of the fin (where the fin is attached to the body)

It's a dark red.

:(

Dealing with a bacterial infection then bless him.
If he's struggling to swim I don't hold out much hope.
Just want to make sure the fish is not flicking and rubbing.
It sounds bacterial septicemia is usually a red edging at the bottom of the fin.

Does it look like a sore with white edging around it.
Or is it just a red patch.

. If the skin is reddened, and appears dull, then the chances of Septicemia are high. Septicemia is a bacterial conditional, and a serious threat to your fish.
