I am in a very depressed state as have just lost my beautiful Dwarf Flame Angel and one of my Clowns. The tank is reasonably immature but all the stats are absoplutely fine. I treated the tank with Tap Aquarium Doctor BSB Bactria Cure to try and remove what began to look like white spot (as couldn't find a product that wouldn't harm invertebrates) especially on my Cow fish and the next day had this disaster. I have a bengali cardinal and another clown and two damsels hopefully surviving. I have had to leave the tank for 48 hrs and am dreading going back tomorrow in case anything else has met this fate. As anyone got any clues? Very worried.

if it is white spot, then all fish need to be treated with copper in a seperate QT tank.

how long where these spots on the fish?

can we have some system specs and a full set of water tests aswel please?

The white spot was showing on the cowfish and clowns for a few days but the angel didn't seem to have any. Unfortunately I don't have a QT yet, but will get one asap. The tank is 260 litres with a saliniy of 1024 and all levels at 0 apart from Nitrate which is about 10. My LFS said the water was absolutely fine. On their recommendation I have now fitted a power head as the only flow was from the filter which is quite considerable. Unfortunately I am not at home at the moment so cannot be more specific. I hope to come back on line tomorrow evening when I see what's happened and I plan to do a 50 ltr water change

Don't forget you can use any food safe container to qt fish, it doesn't have to be a tank

Thankyou I am so new to this and have spent a fortune on setting it up that I understood that marine enthusiasts seemed to talk as if they had a second tank !
