New to the forum, and fairly new to keeping fish.
Had a 30g tropical for 3 or 4 months now. Started with 5 orange guppies, and 5 fancy tail blue guppies. The blue guppies were a bit bigger from the start but sadly only 1 remains. the orange ones seem fine however. I had suspected that we were sold some old fish, plus after researching a little I understand that the fancy tail ones are a little frail.
Yesterday I introduced 6 checkered barbs. Research tells me that checkered barbs are in fact very peaceful, and the salesman assured me they would get on.
So far the guppies are grouped in one corner, and the barbs in the other corner. One or two venture over and check the others out sometimes, but they all look very cautious.
Hopefully they will be fine. at least they are all alive so far
Wanted to join the forum for advice about managing the community, plus I want to move up to bigger fish and tanks over time, and one day, get a big puffer fish
