I've had some hornwort in my tank now for a while. It's been growing fairly well, but I haven't been able to get it to stay put.

When I first got it, I tried rooting it in gravel, and a large part of the plant died on me, and after some research I found out I shouldn't have done that. Anyway, now that it's finally taken off again, I can't get it to stay where I like it. It usually gathers around the filter intake and looks like crap. Is there a safe way to anchor it without the stem rotting again? I'd like it around the surface, if possible.

Hornwort once overtook my 10 gallon aquarium. Anyway you could tie it to a piece of dritwood. You could also wedge it between some decorations. No matter what you do your Hornwort which is very fast growing will eventually grow near your filter intake.

if you want it floating a good trick to 'corral' floating plants is to take a piece of airline tubing, put a slit in one end and link the two ends together, and float it in the tank, and hey presto you have a floating plant 'fence'.
