An Unplanned Tank

Just curious. Has anyone ever have taken their extra unused tank equipment and just set up a tank at spur of the moment. I just finished setting up a 20g high tank with a bunch of bits and pieces. Had just enough sand to cover bottom and some medium sized pebles to cover about half the tank and some larger rocks. Taki hut to top things off. Figure I'll use this for danios hoping with the larger rocks the eggs and fry will have somewhere to hide. This makes tank 4 and the misses is not happy but what else to do with extras stuff. I'm just doing my part to waste things and just use them. So what's your story.

my large tank has filters from other tanks......gravel from 3 other tanks rocks plants from other tanks.....never planned a tank yet

Just got a goldfish in there to start the cycle

Not a clue what way i'm going to setup the tank, But I want a planted tank, Thats all I know for now

ive set up a few tanks from spare bits and bobs i've had lying around and cuttings from existing tanks, never liked them so they didnt spend to long looking like that
