Ok, so I am sitting here eating pizza and watching my SW tank, my mind begins to wander (which is normal for me), ammong my thoughts of space travel and something about dog years (I have no idea what that was about), but anyway I start thinking how great it would be if I had anchovys on my pizza. Now unfortunatly I dont have any anchovys in my tank, so I began woundering how a damsel would taste. Well anyway, I decided not to try that, but my question now is, can anchovys be ketp in a SW tank, or do they need deeper water? I know that they like large schools, but thats about all the info I could find on the net. If anyone knows if it is possible, I would love to talk more about it. Oh, are they reef safe? I cant wait to walk into the LFS and ask for anchovys.

HAHAHAHAHa!!! What an interesting thing to ponder.

Now I'm hungry for pizza :look:

Thats a good question though. I've never seen them for sale or anything. Come to think of it, you don't really see many types of fish that are commonly eaten for sale as aquarium fish.....

This reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons when Homer gets the lobster and raises it until its really huge. "Pinchy!!" :)

LOL, a number of years ago, I got a lobster and slipped it into my parents tank. A few days pasted then my phone rang, it was my mother, she was calling to tell me that my father enjoyed having it for dinner. I asked her "what lobster?" then played stupid, saying "it must have crawled out of your live rock." She laughed then hung up on me. THEY ATE PINCHY!!!
How cool would that be to just reach into your tank and eat something. Man O Man could I ever freak out the neighbors!

LOL, I just found this on the net. "Greta's Pet Which Wasn't An Anchovy"
The forum will not let me put a link to it, one of the words in the address is "sh_te" so if you want to read it you can do a google search. Here is the first paragraph:

Greta was the luckiest little girl in Pitnamby for where all the other children had anchovies as pets she had none other than former University Challenge presenter Bamber Gascoigne. Greta loved her Bamber Gascoigne and would take him long walks in the woods and frequently bathe him in the finest penguin fat she could obtain for showing the older boys her knickers.

Ok, the second paragraph just had to be posted, its just too good.

Bamber Gascoigne had been bought for Greta by her parents when her anchovy had died from a freak outbreak of stress management counselling. How she had cried when the vet announced that her beloved pet was now only fit for pizza toppings. How upset she was as that first layer of tomato puree was smeared lavishly over the doughy round base. And how distressed she was as the mortal remains of her pet were laid to rest amongst the slices of onion and chunks of pepper. But with a liberal sprinkling of oregano the pizza was a mighty success and everyone agreed that it was what Greta's anchovy would have wanted. Probably.
