Ive got several questions about my new tropical tank but i'll start with this one.

I was wondering how many hours i should have my light on in the fish tank so the fish remain healthy. I understand they can have not enought light or too much...

Am i correct in what i have heard and i'm thinking.

The fish i have are

2x Parrot Fish
2x Common Plec 7inch and 2inch
2x Clown Loaches
1x Angel Fish
4x Gouramis

I'm quite experienced in keeping coldwater fish and they can cope with the light on when you get out of bed and the light of when you go to bed... is this the same with freshwater tropicals?

Fish are quite happy with no specific tank lights... but you will need lighting if you have 'real' plants... around 11 hrs a day...

Ok thanks guys pretty much my thoughts think not got any plants but will still give them around 12 hours a day from now will set up the tank light on a timer.

I have more questions which ill add soon.
