Ammonia!

Okay, I'm going to cycle my 10 gallon tank and I bought some ammonia. The only thing I'm worried about is that it has "surfactant" in it, will this not work?

If it has surfacant in it DO NOT USE IT!! A Surfacant is a mild soap and will not work for a cycling tank. I see you're in the USA, If you've got an ACE hardware store in the area, go buy some of their brand ammonia. It's their "Janitorial strength" formula.

Another option is to use prawns to cycle your tank.
