For several days now the ammonia has always been 0.25. I'm doing daily water changes, have cleaned the gravel, cleaned my filter (in tank water), used API quick start. But nothing seems to bring it down. Has anyone got any advice?
I have 5 platies and 2 X-ray tetras. A few plants too. 64 litre.
Thanks!
I've attached a pic of my test results too!

What is your tap water showing? You may have ammonia in your tap.

You wont find ammonia in your tap as it would have reacted with chlorine to form chloramine, however, depending on the type of test, chloramine could be showing up on the ammonia test seemingly as ammonia if water not dechlorinated.

I always use tap safe when I change the water :) I've just tested the tap water and it's a tiny bit more on the yellow side. Hardly noticeable though. It's an API master kit?

API test kits are known to show 0.25 as zero.

Overall, I would say it's zero. Don't sweat it.

Thanks! I've been panicking for days thinking that my fish will end up with ammonia poisoning! I've done so many water changes over the last few days! At least I can relax a bit now. I've had just about enough of testing and changing the water lol! Thanks again :)
