Ammonia Stop Dropping

Iv been fishless cyclein for over 30days i got stuck at 23days with 1.5ppm of ammonia still, so from advice i did a 90% water change cleaned the ornements etc and started again,
i did not clean my filter.

anyway since starting again with 5ppm ammonia its drops nicely everyday, till it hits 1.5ppm then stops?

still no sign of nitRItes and nitRAtes?

why is tjis happening or is it normal

That is not normal.

Ammonia is converted into Nitrites, then Nitrates. If, as your ammonia levels fall, your Nitrites do not rise, I would look at replacing your test kit.
