Ammonia Question

If it doesn't have ingredients (some bottles don't), shaking is the only way to find out. You can obviously look at it to tell if it has dye added and smell (from a distane) to see if it has perfumes but shaking i about the only way to tell if it has detergent or surfactants.

well i gave it shake, opened the lid and took a sniff which promptly melted the inside of my nose! this stuff is strong! sadly it also foamed up so ill have to find another.

how much pee would I need....???

hahahahaha! actually we had question about this before.... but i don't think we ever came to a conclusion on pee/water ratio! lol! anyway, honestly you would probably be better off buying ammonia then using pee, because you are going to have to change out all of the water and scrub that tank down before introducing fish if you use pee! personally i would probably just drop a few $ on a bottle from a petshop and save the hassle, but seriously, your call!

That's why I said smell from a distance. If you smell straight from the bottle, it will definitely clear the sinuses and wake you up. What do you think is in smelling salts?

you were right but i forgot! i think i dont smell it anymore - i could taste it all evening! ill try and find some more from elsewhere.
thanks
