Yesterday my reading was Ammonia : 0, Nitrite: 0 and Nitrate around 40.

Today i tested and the ammonia was still 0, nitrate dropped a little to say 20-30 but nitrite was around 0.25.

Is this natural during a cycle? and will it be eliminated by tomorrows gravel vacuum and 50% water change?

Thanks for your continued help :)

Is this a fishless cycle? If so, dose your ammonia up to 4 ppm and test all your levels in 24 hours.

Nitrates don't really disappear without a water change, so it could be bogus test results.

his title says fish-in cycle mate. Maybe a small w/c will eliminate those Nitrites, any nitrite in a fish-in cycle is toxic to fish. HTH x

Water change and gravel clean has eliminated the nitrite with ammonia at nil.

:good:

Ammonia eating bacteria look like they have done there job so your just waiting on nitrites now! Not long though!

:) Today my readings were ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrate at around 25.

Today my ammonia reading looks at about 0.1, nitrate 0 and nitrate 25.

Should i see if the ammonia is gone tomorrow or should i do a water change today?

Turned up the bubbles yesterday by increasing airflow and todays reading is ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrate 25 :)

Sounding good.

Thoughts about stocking?

My stocking is alright, seems at the moment the 2 same type angelfish are fighting to be the alpha-angel. Taking the 5 glass catfish to the LFS today aswell.
