ok so my ammonia levels just like to randomaly spike all the time i tank isnt over stocked if anything understocked mabey there pooin to much so me question is does any one know how to keep the ammonia levels down??

make sure there are no dead fish or rotting dead plants, and dont overfeed the fish.

What kind of filter do you have? You might think about getting something like a biowheel or more filter media to increase your good bacteria.

well no dead fish i cont them every day

hmm i just clip and clean the dead plants every 3 days so there shouold be nothing with that

i have a power whisper iunno the brand for a 30-40 gal or something like that its appropiate size

hmmm mabey a bio wheel would be good

are they some what loud b/c this tank is in my room?

How many times do you feed your fish?

How longs the tank been set up?

tank has been set up about 5months
and i feed them 2 times a dat and 2-3 times a week i make them skp a meal so tey dont get too over fed

I feed mine once a day. Read you should miss the 7th day, but I dont.

The way you feed may be why your levels are everywhere. Tank has a load of food and fish poo when you feed them, then over next day or so it has no source of ammonia. Good bacteria has no food. Then you chuck a load of food in again in a day and the good bacteria probably cant cope with it.

What size tank is it nad what filter do you have?

30 gal im some like whishper 30 gal or something

mabey a bio wheel wopuld work better

What are your water change procedures, & what do you use for dechlorinator?
