Try some hardware stores and supermarkets, in the household cleaning section. You better make sure that the ammonia is just a mixture of ammonia and water. If you shake it and it froths dont buy it, if it doesn't form a foam then its fine to use.

People have said that the cheaper brands are the best to go for as they dont have many additives!

Do you guys in the UK not have access to pure ammonia? We can buy it right in the pharmacy in the USA.

I had huge problems finding mine!

I wen't to the biggest Tesco (grocery store) in the whole of England and couldnt find any, went to boots, went to homebase, B+Q, Do it All and some other small stores with cleaning sections and I found nothing like what i needed.

I ended up doing the same as seanyt66, and buying it off eBay. Think mine cost £4 including postage+packaging and 500ml is gonna cycle a lot of tanks as mines getting on for finishing cycling and the bottle still looks full.

It seems finding this stuff in the UK is a huge pain in the backside, good luck to you.

most of the largeer boots stores stock it, don't know why so many people struggle to find it!?!

but yeah if you're really short peeing in the tank will work just as well to be completely honest.

My local boots didnt have it, but a high street pharmacy had some stuff called amokleen which i used to cycle mine and it was fine

Hi,

I got mine from Robert Dyers in the uk. Kleen off. I shook the bottle and no froff.

I put a few drops into the tank yesterday and waited 1 hour then tested. Ammonia was at 1ppm so i put more in. The tank is clowdy, i'm gonna test the ammonia later today.

You should be able to find it in all Boots stores. Some stores will have it on the shelf, some you will have to ask for it as it's hidden away.

Thanks everyone. I found a pet shop called African aquantics or something which sold the Jeyes Kleen off only £2.29! I cant wait to cycle this tank and get some gorgeous Discus!
