I bought some ammonia from my local grocery store, the ingredients list is Ammonium Hydroxide and Surfactant. I just wanted to make sure this was safe to use. So is it?

-Edit. Nevermind a simple google search answered my question. Gottan remember to do that first next time.-

:good: , just for future reference, you can use fish food instead of ammonia :good: useful website.

Can't you also use a piece of frozen seafood? Just throw it in there. Or ask your LFS if you can have some dead fish for free lol.

Using an ammonia solution allows you to control the precise dosage you are using to feed the bacteria, and get an accurate sense of your cycle progress.

Make sure that your ammonia solution does NOT have surfactants in it. If you are pretty sure it doesn't, shake it, make sure it doesn't foam up. If it foams up, it probably has surfactants, in which case, don't use it.
