Ammo Lock Not Working?

Well my ammonia has been high for over a week and water changes aren't helping. About 2 hours ago I put in 5ml as written for 10gal fish tanks. Ijust did a test and the ammonia is still the same, why isn't this helping

Ammolock converts ammonia to ammonium, a form relativly non-toxic to fish, but still available to your bio filtration to be converted to nitrite. Some tests will show ammonium the same as ammonia. There are a couple of different types of ammonia tests, I don't remember offhand which will show ammonia only & not ammonium.


Aha, found it! Ammo test kist using the salicylate method will detect only ammonia & not ammonium.
