Could anyone post any pictures of the American lifestyle? Like your garden, house, neighbourhood or something, or desert ranches. I just love seeing films about America, and would love to visit their one day. I'd like to see pictures of the way the houses are and things, it might sound a little bit weird, but i'm really interested.

i too am very intrested in America well the and the North American continent as a whole i dont have pictures of may american neighbourhoods but i have some vacation photos of my last visit to USA.

LOL, Ive noticed that many U.K homes are made from brick...Same as the Mid-U.S such as Texas. Pretty much every house in Texas is brick...

Yeah but In California its like the earthquake capital of the world :S .Making homes made of brick wouldnt be the smartest decision. :) . But in the Mid U.S it helps against strong winds like there tornados and such. :fun:

unfortunately, i don't seem to have many "lifestyle pics". i do have an assignment for Sociology that will encompass this request, but it will be a few weeks before i can complete it.

got to apply to grad schools first!

I'll be sure to carry my camera around with me this week and take some pictures of "common area things" for you. Sounds fun actually. :nod:

Meanwhile, my husband still has our honeymoon vaction pics here if you want to check them out. http://etherspring.com/ It's more scenic America pics than Americana though. --- We drove from Houston through west Texas and New Mexico and stayed at a lodge in Page, Arizona at Lake Powell.

They were awesome pictures, thank you very much for sharing! I got the feel of that "American presence", that I like, and I get it when I see it on TV. You may think I sound stupid, asking for pictures of anything, like your local shop, DIY shops or anything, it just really fascinates me!

I found a few for ya.

Here's a pic of downtown Chicago, looking west from North Avenue Beach, around 6 am;

Run down abandoned hotel in Harvey, down the street from where I work. I took this pic in January, they finally knocked it down this week. Rough neighborhood, but someone has a sense of humor. Read the sign in the second pic;
