I just bought a smallish potted amazon sword but i have 4 clown clown loaches in the tank. They have managed
to destroy all the other plants i have placed in there except for the ambulia which proved to be quite hardy.

I have placed rocks around the bottom of the plant but have no way to protect the leaves..

Is this plant strong enough to sustain an attack from a clown loach and if not can u give me
any ideas of plants which would?

thankss:)

I have 2 amazon swords and my loaches never eat of the plants. Try feeding them cucumbers.......

when i had loaches they were fine with the plants (although they were in with plants from Day 1), tougher species include vallisneria and anubias sp.

ooh thankyou:)

i swear my my loaches would do anything for food..yet i feed them so much
^^^^^^^^^^

Inmy exerience, Clown Loaches do not so much eat the plants as pull them up. This is less likely to happen with an amazon sword that subulata or rotala. They do nsometimes punch holes in aubias, from what I have read, but I never witnessed this.

Feed them late at night, aside from the regular tank feedings, with shrimp/vegetable matter sinking food. see if it helps your plants.
