Could do with some advice please before I go out and buy and make a huge mistake I better ask the question.

Is Amazon Sword a good centre piece for my tank, if not what else can I use as a main centre piece. Something for hiding and swimming round.

So far this is the plan:

On the right is: Hygrophila polysperma

I will have on the left some: Hygrophila difformis Water Wisteria

In the centre I have: Villasneria spiralis

Bogwood leaving as is with nothing growing on it for now. All depends if I stick with Bogwood, maybe change to large slate caves if it all takes off. Not sure.

Tank is 125L (about 100L of water) and about 45cm high. DIY CO2 and about 2 watt per gallon, PH will be around 6.6-6.8. John Inns NO3 Fertz.

Ignore the little Fluval filter as that is only creating some flow and pumping some CO2 around till I buy an external filter.

Amazon swords are almost bullet proof and can grow quite large a Java Fern mounted to a bogwood chunk could work also

What about some crypts, they would look nice in the foreground with a few more larger plants towards the back.

Little update:

Got an Amazon Sword, bought an external filter from LFS and they were breaking down there tanks ready for a re'fit so asked if I could have there Amazon Sword as it is already grown.

Pic:

So far: Amazon Sword, Hygrophila polysperma, Hygrophila difformis Water Wisteria and some Villas in the rear.

Got 1" of John Innes NO3 and about 1 3/4" of gravel.
DIY CO2 2 x 2L bottles defused through an air stone and also even more by the small filter.

Hopping all the plants route so I can then give a little trim.

Should I do anything else, have I missed anything, will the John Innes be enough without adding and liquid fertz?

In the longer run that sword will totally fill your tank. Here is a picture of one I had in a 75 gal. tank (48x15x21 inch).

That looks very healthy, I can't see any reason why it shouldn't continue to do well. :good:
