I'm talking about the humble plastic milk pitcher. Mine has served me well. I use it to scoop out foating junk, defrosting frozen foods, priming my aquaclear filter, so many things I cannot remember. Yes it says "for fish pee" on it, that's to keep my housemates from using it for milk :p

That's pretty funny!

My favorite household item now turned fish item is my 5 gallon wine bucket. It was previously used to ferment grape juice and now serves my fishies well! It's great because it has 1 through 5 gallon markings on it so I always know exactly how much water I took out (or put in).

I don't know if its a household item, but I use my mom's hairclip (those really big ones) to clip the end of a syphon to the bucket when i'm gravel cleaning/waterchanges/etc so I won't have to worry about it

mine is a kitchen strainer(used for noodles) to clean new gravel with and my others are 2 1/2 quart pitchers that i use to change a little bit of water/add more water, and house small fish temporarly(only a few min so dont worry anyone)

Well it's not a very imaginative use but I have stolen the digital meat thermometer from the kitchen drawer after finding out it works from -40 to 450 degrees F in tenths of a degree and switches from C to F if needed. Now water changes are within a tenth of a degree instead of 2-3 degrees :)

Looks like this one but has a C-F switch too.

I like cutting out the feet of old holey pantyhose to use for housing charcoal in the filter. No need to buy expensive bags!

I also save the PWC yuck in the buckets and water my plants, they love it.

When I do a PWC at my mom's and pour the waste on her tomato plants, I try not to think about "I'm eating fish poop" when I eat a fried green tomato over there. :D I feed my fish and they feed me, indirectly anyway. hehe
