She meant that the finnage isn't in like a perfect pattern. Like, There isn't the same amount of space between each ray in his tail and the rays in his anal fin are crooked

I think that metallic shine (the black specks you're referring to) might be part of the copper colouration.

That fish is fantastic........I am on the prowl for another betta at the moment...been good at least a month...and 2 of my OAPs have died...

Yep thats what I meant. He wouldnt score high if being judged with his fins. He is lovely though
