Just wanted to share. I went out today and purchased a very handsome fasciata boy that I have had my eyes on for some time. Also 5 sparkling gouramis who are now in my quarantine/hosptial tank, where their job is to keep it cycled (oh, what was that word you mentioned? MTS? Is it medical?). I do hope they all manage. Am feeling a bit nervous now, haven't kept anabantoids for over 30 years. I meant to get pearl gouramis, but I haven't seen the fasciatas around before and they really were so handsome.

ooh pretty sparkling gouramis

i'm after a couple to complete my little 10gal tank

i hear they are very good fish and awesome to have!!

Good luck~

The sparklers are nice but still very shy (in their own little 5 gallon atm). But I can't get over how absolutely gorgeous the banded gourami is! He has settled in straightaway, gets on with everybody, eats like a horse and his colouring is just stunning! Why are these fish not more commonly sold? I can't see why anyone would bother buying these increasingly artificial-looking my-little-pony coloured psychopathic dwarf gouramis, when the world contains fish like these. I looked up tropicalfishfinder, hoping to find him some girls- and not a single shop had fasciatas! Is there some hideous secret about these fish, something I'm going to find out in the next few months? Or is my infatuation going to mature into true love?

I've had two banded gouramis (male and female) for about a month now and I absolutely love them. The female isn't as brightly colored, but she is still lovely. They are in a community tank and they get along with everyone. Overall just fantastic fish!
