I was told my tank was approx 180 littres when i first bought it but to me its more like 140 litres, not sure what it is in gallons. Anyway the question is am i over stocked?
4 female Bettas, 8 Tetras, 5 WCM Minnows, 2 BN Plecs, 1 Clown Plec, 4 Platy, 2 swordtails, 3 Clown Loaches, 1 Cory and a couple of baby platy which i will not be keeping. They all have plenty of room, weekly water changes are done (10 - 20 litres) along with cleaning the gravel and the water stats are fine, so am i ok with this stock?

Even being conservative with eventual adult sizes you have the potential for 58 inches of fish in your tank. With increased filtration and weekly 25-30% water changes you "might" just get away with your current stocking but you are right on the edge maxiumum stocking level so if problems did arrise they could esculate very quickly.

UK gallons are not really of any use in fish keeping terms, the recognised measures are US gallons or litres (prefferably US gallons on this site as they are the most widely used) or even better give the dimesions of the tank. The tank is roughly 40 US gallons.

Your tank is deffinately fully stocked. One thing i would mention. If for any reason you loose your clown plec I would stick to the 2 bristlenose. Clown plecs dont do particularly well on their own, really need to be in groups, and more than anything need bogwood in the tank to rasp on. If this isn't provided then they will simply die over time..

They have a nice big lump of bogwood ! Only went for one clown plec as they told me they can be aggresive with each other.

Then they are idiots i'm afraid.

Sounds like you are a bit over stocked. See if you can drop off a few fish back to the petstore or a friend.

You maybe over stocked but u need more Corys :( They are best kept in groups of 3...

Kev

I did buy 3 and they were with my male Betta in his 25 litre tank basicly to keep the bottom of tidy, one only had one eye when i got them home and didnt last very long, another looked like it had been bitten by the betta so i was left with one and i decided to put it in the community tank.
