okay well for 2 wekks now ive been cycling my 180l tank, with in one week i got my first bit of nitrite but i havent seen any ammonia, does this mean that i have bacteria that changer ammonia into nitrite. i have about 0.25 ppm of nitrite and ive been adding food every day to rot to make ammonia, there are no fish in the tank yet but now i've started to go onto double feedings so i can make even more ammonia to get my bacteria levels up.
is this an okay way of cycling because im happy if it takes another 4ish weeks (i'de like less but i want healthy fish).
any sugestions on another way thats better or faster or shoud i stick with this, as i have cycled 3 other tanks in this way (the were all tiny though, 10l, 15l and a 30l)
thanks for any help, shang hi :good:

you could just add ammonia from a bottle might speed you up

the net or even the local markets thats where i picked mine up, but homebase has a version and i think wilkingsons has one as well

I got one bottle from Homebase (havent seen any for a while though) I also got some from Boots - so it is out there. You can also buy it online from HERE

Using bottle ammonia should speed it up a bit and be easier to measure than rotting fish food
