Hi,

I am looking at my next fish to be added. I really want a yellow tang but not sure if my set up is sufficient. I have a 3 foot tank with 270 litres. I have a six line wrasse, two humbugs, a jewel algae blennie, a royal gamma, a flameback angel and a potters angel ( I know the rule is only one angel but they are really getting on great.)

If the set up is too small for a yellow tang has anybody got any suggestions as to a similar alternative fish?

Thanks again for all of your help.

Stef

Would have said lemon peel angel but you got 2 angels already..the min tank for a yellow tang is 300 lt and above so you're not too far off that..could risk a young one if willing to sell on if it out grows the system as long as you keep an eye on your water params and maybe up your water changes to allow for another larger fish....

yeah it will outgrow your tank and they can get aggressive.

Scopas tang is from the same family.
MAybe get a juvie tang of a diffferent family. Whatever tang you get you will have to sell it on

Juvenile yellow tangs are a bit difficult to get hold of atm. I was speaking to the lfs about this on Monday.

I ended up with a Juvenile Caribbean Blue, this grows much much bigger than the yellow and will need a much larger tank eventually.

Best to have a look what is around and then look up their requirements and ask on here if you are considering a tang.
