Wow. Awesome.
Yesterday I watched the pair hanging around a plastic plant in the corner of my tank. Thought they'd be spawning there. Today, the female spent ALOT of time cleaning the plant, her tummy was so pink and swollen, oviposter was enlarged. Saw her kinda lay against the leaf a little, both were territorial. Had to go out to dinner, came back and there's a bunch of eggs! Probably between 70 and 100, hard to count!

The male rubbed against them a couple of times that I saw, kinda slid the underside of himself against them. The female guards the eggs, then comes out and gets the male and nudges him until he guards the eggs for a bit, it's awesome to watch!!

Are the eggs fertilized already do you think?
Should I leave them in there or remove them?
If I want to keep the fry and raise them and possibly sell them to my LFS when should I pull them out?

If I were you, since this is I assume thier first spawn, leave the eggs with the parents, and let them get some experience in parenting, even if this spawn doesnt make it, it will strenghten their bond, and skill at raising fry.

Oh and congradulations.

Wah. Someone ate them!
Either my clown pleco, or themselves...

I would say it was most likely themselves.

They will get better at looking after the eggs eventually.

How long now until the female spawns again?

My Bolivians spawn roughly every 3 weeks after the fry have died/been eaten.

I think Blue Rams wouldn't be too different.

So another 3-4 weeks and there should be another batch of eggs.

My Rams spawn every month and every month the male Ram has a caviar feast! They really are terrible egg eaters...

hey i see that we have some hardy spawning rams here. if anyone has maybe 4 that they would want to sell i would be interested in purchasing some.
pm me if you want
thanks

p.s.- sorry to hear about your fry, good luck in a couple weeks !
