So I got an Emperor 400 with a particularly noisy, grindy impeller. After some research and comparisons, I noticed it was mis manufactured (or somehow they put the wronge impeller model in the box)

anyways thats not the point-

I called marineland and they didn't even ask for a receipt or when I'd bought it or anything, they just asked for my adress and said they'd send me a new impeller, manifold, and intake tube (the impeller is pretty much the most expensive part on the filter on an Emperor. Everything else is cheap plastic). Suuuure I thought.

Six days later (And I'm in Canada, so they shipped it from the US at a freight cost of over $10USD *you can see it on the box) it was at my door, delivered by hand.

Pretty freaking impressive. The filter runs perfectly now.

I can't say I believe Eheim or Hagen or Rena (AP) would have done anything of the sort...

It usually becomes all too apparent that when manufacturers become 'big boys' the first thing to go out the window is the concern of the consumer.

I suppose there are some companies to whom customer service still means something. Good to see there are some commercial entities to whom the plight of your average Joe means something.

And I suppose they get something out of it too. Because of your post here, the worth of Marineland may have gone up in the estimation of a couple of people. Had the post been the other way round, it may have gone down.

Or, it could just be a design fault that they are repairing on all these filters as a matter of course anyway and you're not that special to them anyway! :p
