alls fine ph and ammonia and nitrate. but my nitrite is high been doing big water changes to get the nitrite down. what can make them go up

I believe that there is a bacteria in your filte that turns ammonia into nitrites, and then another bacteria turns the nitrites into nitrates

thank you i am still doing water changes but getting there but slowy got the nitrite down for three day now and whent up to day done a big water chenge hoping it last a bit longer then three days

Have you tested the ammonia and nitrites in your tap water? It could have either making nitrites.

hi man of fish tap test was ok. had to strip he tank right down today the whole lot becouse the test i done this mornig was 0.2 nitrite
