between two and a half, and three feet long, got a pond? He is a labyrinth breather too, so he's kind of like a really really big betta with two rows of sharp teeth... ;>

Those things get monstrous,right?

They have been known to go over eight feet, and 175 pounds. biggest I have heard about was ten feet 210 pounds.

I would love to say yes... I broke the cardinal rule, I did not research what I purchased. I was assured by the LFS that a 90 would last him comfortably for a long long time, yeah. He was 5 inches long then. 3 years and two and a half feet later, I am trying to get the attention of our local zoo.

oh....................... that makes...things.... a little bit...differents...well....why not make a pond? well it would be a lot of work and $$$ i guess thats why u dont do it right?

It gets so big I would need a 20 foot pond, 5 feet deep when it is full grown. That is a big pond :>
Calgary is not warm enough for him to winter outdoors, so that is one big indoor pond ;>

To tell you the truth, I have no idea why these are available in home aquaria at all :>

geez  well..... if i'd have the money i would build the biiiiiig pond first and then an indoor garden :) like first do the hole in the ground put the thingy do the pond and then put the glasses around it :) but its kinda expensive :/ but i really think its possible if you have the room, patience, and money :)

Sad isn't it and to think most of them brought unknowingly will be released to die or destroy the native wildlife so its good to hear you are finding him a good home.
