I was at my friend's place the day before. Its something like a Condominium, with a pool, gym and all. It also had this 2 outdoor ponds which i guess is used to add to the scenery. Everything's normal except one of the ponds, the smaller of the 2 had what it seems to be a freshwater gar. I estimate the pond to be barely 5' in length, 3' in width, and 1' deep, which i doubt would be enough to hold a gar.

It was kinda empty except for a few flower horns, african cichlids, and a turtle. The gar was around 1' or 2 whereas the other fishes are only around 20". Wouldnt the gar make food out of the other fishes? I think it was thrown in by some resident or something. And it looked awfully like an Alligator gar

alligator gars will grow bigger than that pond! yes it will eventually eat everything in there as well i'd say.

here's a pic of one granted this is the world record (apparantly)

but still even half that size is to big for the pond you describe. i'd try and give the owners of the pond some advice see if they take it on?

and heres a pic of the teeth they get that would make easy work of even the biggest flower horn!

probably a shortnose gar Lepisosteus platostomus. normaly gets to about 24" but are super violent and will chase and bite anything.
i really dont think that it could be an aligator gar.

i cant really tell actually. all i know it has spots, and from here it could be a spotted gar, florida gar or shortnose gar. but then again juvenile alligator gars also has spots
