Allergies

hi everyone

one of my ruby barbs passed away last week, and i was wondering if fish can have allergies to things. my water was fine and the fish seemed fine, al until i put some brine shrimp in for feeding. after that he wasn't swimming around like a maniac as usual - he just stayed in the same place. 2 days after the brine shrimp he died. so can fish get allergies?

I highly doubt that was the issue. It was probably a coincidence that the brine shrimp and the barb passing happened at the same time.

Instead of allergies, there could have been something else caused by the BS (lol): over feeding. It may be the cause, but honestly, many many other things come into focus when a fish dies. How is your water quality, how are the other fish? Were there any external signs of illness? etc, etc.

no signs of illness, and i have 3 rams which are very delicate fish and they were fine and so were othr fish. lfs tested water and said it was perfect.
